Passing of Baby Jesus

Every December 24, Bolívar Street becomes Cuenca’s 5^th river, product of the great wave of faithful who walk in the same direction; dancing, singing and praising the image of the “Niño Viajero” (Baby Jesus). During the grand parade; families, friends, school students, university students, neighborhood groups and tourists, parade wearing elegant suits and giving candy to the attendants. Bread and chicha are never lacking.
